Job Summary:

The therapist works under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of the agency. The therapist has primary responsibility for providing on-going direct clinical mental health counseling services to clients. Provide direct therapy to clients in individual and group settings.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, adolescent, couples, families, and group therapy.
  • Conduct all case management duties necessary to support the on-going clinical work which includes, but not limited to, case records, follow-up with ancillary contacts, and attend any case reviews held by referring agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to apply mental health counseling methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of community mental health resources.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of case management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical counseling principles, programs, and methodology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to manage paperwork and client files.
  • Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and virtual platforms.


Education and Experience:

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in social work or related human services field
  • Current license, in the State of Georgia: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT
  • Prior experience working in a clinical work environment.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the counselor must have the ability to occasionally

lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May be required to sit for long periods of time.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must submit current license in the State of Georgia.
  • Must maintain certification status.


COVID Considerations: We are not seeing clients in person, but the staff is in the office. Therapists will use tele-counseling.
