Description

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit that is working to promote the development of an inclusive society by transforming the social stigma against disability across the globe. We create integrated, supportive spaces with life skills training, emotional support, and community service opportunities. Through these integrated spaces, they are able to break down internal and external barriers surrounding views on ability in order to create positive change in society. Our ultimate goal is to enable society to understand that inclusion of all is a value for all.


ETI is currently seeking a full-time Chief Operating Officer to work directly with ETI’s Chief Executive Officer. The COO is responsible for coordinating cross departmental initiatives through Empowerment Through Integration and for direct staff oversight of program and departmental directors. The COO will play an integral role in organization strategy, Human Resources development, policies and procedures and making sure that all programs are performing efficiently and in-line with ETI’s mission.  This individual will need to be organized, a strong communicator, and able to collaborate closely with ETI’s CEO and staff.


POSITION OBJECTIVES

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
  • Ensure effective recruiting and human resources including: benefits management, employee onboarding, professional development, performance management, retention, timesheet approval and payroll administration
  • Adhere to company, federal, state, and local 501(c)3 requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary


DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct management to ETI departmental directors, volunteer directors, and operations staff and volunteers
  • Analyze internal operations, policies and procedures and identify areas of process enhancement
  • Develop actionable strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
  • Review weekly departmental reports and write weekly organizational report for presentation to CEO
  • Regularly evaluate and update HR, IT, financial and programmatic policies to comply with organizational and legal needs
  • Oversee organizational and departmental expenses, budgeting and annual tax filings to ensure the organization achieves targets and meets growth and strategic goals
  • Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting
  • Perform other duties which may arise based on needs of organization
  • Manage organizational office space
  • Regularly evaluate the efficiency of procedures according to organizational objectives and update accordingly
  • Assist CEO with preparation of materials for bi-annual Board of Directors Meetings


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required; Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience in non-profit setting with direct management experience and executive leadership experience
  • Fundraising experience a plus
  • Experience working in an international non-profit a plus
  • Knowledge of 501(c)3 employment laws and guidelines
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • Experience in developing and implementing organizational strategic plans
  • Strong delegation capabilities
  • Experience managing both personnel and volunteers
  • Exceptional interpersonal, listening and communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and ability to manage and oversee many projects at once
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, Salesforce, and others
