EVkids empowers underserved Boston youth with the skills and confidence needed to realize their potential. We create a community of support through 1-on-1 multi-year academic mentoring relationships, professional family engagement and school advocacy, college success advising, and a summer camp at our 9-acre site in Vermont. By building a safe space where success is expected and attainable together, EVkids helps academically underserved students get to and through college.

EVkids are low-income students, grades 4 to 12, matched 1-on-1 in multi-year tutoring and mentoring relationships with student volunteer tutors from local universities, including Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Tufts, and UMassBoston. 100+ Tutoring pairs meet weekly across four EVkids after-school Tutoring sites in Dorchester and Roxbury, supported through weekly contact with families, regular communication with teachers and guidance counselors, on- and off-site support to tutors, and community and campus-based events.

Based in Dorchester, EVkids is a faith-based organization that respects the various backgrounds and experiences that have brought our staff and volunteers together to work towards a more equitable and compassionate world. We are committed to a diverse workplace and do not discriminate based on race, age, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability.
