Technology Coordinator


The ERC is a civil rights organization that identifies and seeks to eliminate unlawful and unfair discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations in its home community of Greater Washington, D.C. and nationwide. The ERC’s core strategy for identifying unlawful and unfair discrimination is civil rights testing. When the ERC identifies discrimination, it seeks to eliminate it through the use of testing data to educate the public and business community, support policy advocacy, conduct compliance testing and training, and, if necessary, take enforcement action.


The ERC is looking to hire a Technology Coordinator. The Technology Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and will work across teams on a variety of special projects and ongoing tasks.


Specific Duties:

·      Maintain, manage and update ERC technology, including, but not limited to:

o  Office and staff computer and telecommunications hardware, software, and connective devices;

o  Databases;

o  Websites;

o  Apps; and,

o  Social media and other online portals.

·      Ensure the security of ERC technology and networks.

·      Troubleshoot day-to-day issues with ERC technology infrastructure.

·      Design and create websites and apps.

·      Provide project management for existing technology projects.

·      Help design, develop, and provide project management for new technology projects.

·      Find, select, and oversee outside technology developers, as needed.

·      Create and manage social media content designed to promote ERC efforts.

·      Serve as a resource for ERC management on various technology issues.

·      Special projects and other duties as assigned.

  


Examples of Special Projects:

·      Migrate a physical server to the cloud. 

·      Develop and design a new database and tech functionality for remote civil rights testers.

·      Manage the back end, administer and troubleshoot for a new ERC app under development - Access A11Y, project manage user experience and engagement, and work with ERC management to develop the second generation of Access A11y.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; 
  • A degree or significant training and experience in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field;
  • Significant experience and skill developing and/or upgrading CRM databases (with Office 365 CRM and Salesforce experience and skill preferred);
  • Significant experience and skill working with WordPress;
  • Experience and skill in using all Microsoft Office platforms;
  • Experience and skill in website and web app development;
  • Experience and skill in server to cloud migration;
  • Experience and skill with HTML and other programming languages;
  • Experience and skill with Help Desk/Desktop Support;

·      High proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, including a demonstrated ability to create content and drive engagement; 

  • Demonstrable interest and desire to work on the advancement of civil rights;
  • Demonstrable organizational, project and time-management skills;
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-demand environment, with lots of change and team collaboration required; and,
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
