This is an incredible opportunity for a development professional who loves animals and is looking to take the next step in their career and build leadership skills.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) is looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of demonstrated experience closing five and six figures gifts to lead our new major gift program.
As part of a recently completed assessment of its fundraising potential, ARL is focused on developing and growing multi-year major gifts and the capacity for future capital campaigns. The goal is to increase giving from $3 million in 2018 to $5 million annually by 2021 with the major gift program leading this growth.
It is an exciting time to join the ARL team as the organization grows and strives to increase impact for animals in need.
The Senior Development Officer (Officer) serves as a member of the management team with the primary responsibility of advancing the major gifts program including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts ($5,000 – $500,000+).
Under the direction of the Director of Development with dotted line reporting to the President, the Officer will implement and manage, effective, creative, and often uniquely tailored strategies designed to individually and systematically interest, engage, and secure a wide range of key prospects to meet or exceed funding goals.
The Officer will oversee a team of two major gift officers, developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan for five-and six-figure gifts; and an associate level position, to coordinate leadership level events and general administrative support.
With ambitious growth goals, a small shop setting, and integrated responsibilities, the Officer must be able to work collaboratively and enjoy a team environment.
