To meet these challenges, Success has launched the Education Institute, to drive the organization-wide training and development strategy for adult learners. The Ed Institute provides a sophisticated digital environment for housing our innovative scholar curriculum, adult e-learning courses, and other training resources — combined with the in-person practice and coaching that is foundational to our approach to adult learning. The Ed Institute will give us the capacity to train thousands of our own educators, as well as to spur innovation and to share our model and best practices with other charter management organizations and districts around the country.
To bring this critically important endeavor to scale, Success seeks to hire a Certification Director to oversee all certification operations, including enrollment, verification, transcript, and graduation processing for hundreds of teachers and leaders across our network of 46 schools, and growing.
Reporting to the Managing Director of the Ed Institute, the Director will be responsible for:
-Managing year-round interactive professional development trainings and programs for teachers, that contribute to certification, and ensuring processes are followed;
-Managing a small team and ensuring that department milestones and goals are met, and approved budgets are adhered to;
-Compiling, monitoring, and analyzing data gathered from programs and participants, in order to track progress towards certification status;
-Generating and providing executive-level reporting and updates, to internal departments, third parties, and authorizers;
-Regularly partnering, consulting, and communicating with internal departments such as Instructional Design, Blended Learning, Human Resources, Training Services, Technology, Marketing, and others, to ensure that training remains relevant, and is being delivered as designed;
-Maintaining knowledge of changes to certification reporting requirements and compliance regulations, and regularly reviewing policies and procedures to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely certification; and
-Overseeing communication with teachers enrolled in certification programs, regarding program requirements, and liaising between external certification authorizers, program participants, and with various functions at the network’s head office.
The Certification Director should be someone who…
-Has 4+ years relevant experience in data maintenance/management, office operations, staff supervision, in a college or university office, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including supporting, planning, and managing trainings (online and/or in-person) including all operational and logistical details;
-Has experience leading a team to facilitate procedural changes; managing people and projects, particularly projects involving cross-functional departments and complex systems;
-Is proactive, finds solutions to complex problems with an analytical mindset and sense of urgency;
-Is proficient in query and report writing;
-Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
-Is highly organized with proven ability to oversee multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are consistently met;
-Has strong technical and communication (written and verbal) skills;
-Exhibits a high level of grit and determination;
-Is a learner; and
-Is committed to education reform.
