Refugee Integration Instructor

Jewish Family Service is currently seeking a Refugee Integration Instructor to join our Refugee and Immigrant Services team. This full-time (37.5 hours/week) position provides resettlement services to refugees who are new to the US. The position is based in the Kent JFS office, but work is primarily carried out in locations throughout the Puget Sound, such as other JFS sites, clients’ homes and other locations in the community.  This position will have an appropriate schedule to meet client needs, some evening and weekends. Flexibility to work with periods of very high demand is needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver cultural orientation materials to ensure effective and efficient compliance with the R&P Cooperative Agreement for recently arrived refugees.
• Deliver Preferred Communities Group Programming to facilitate client cultural orientation, community navigation and understanding of available resources.
• Deliver workshops on professional development and career re-entry topics in accordance with the CLEVER contract.  
• Design and deliver curriculum for self-sufficiency workshops on basic life skills, system navigation and job readiness topics, tailoring existing resources as available.  
• Track and report client progress with pre- and post-assessments to determine comprehension and assess on-going needs across programs.
• Support RIS staff in recruiting participants and ensuring holistic services for all RIS clients.
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation for each participant per program and contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within field.
• Previous teaching experience with diverse populations and English Language Learners.
• Demonstrated ability to assess individual strengths, barriers and progress within a multilevel classroom environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly while maintaining empathetic and client-centered services in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written, spoken and non-verbal communication skills.
