Candidates with excellent writing, numerical, analytical, administration and communications skills are invited to apply for a full-time Program Associate position in the Charity Accountability Program of the Metro NY Better Business Bureau Education and Research Foundation.

Responsibilities include: helping to write BBB charity reports, including handling receipt of charity information, follow-up functions, evaluations, proofreading, quality control and monitoring tasks; fielding question & answer calls, emails, and correspondence with charities; invitation and invoice mailings; outreach and relationship development tasks; participation in conferences, exhibits, and other public events; database maintenance, data quality management; assisting with intern training and recruitment, preparation of intern materials, and supervision of interns; helping to plan, staff and execute programs and events; and other general office work and projects as assigned. Tasks may also include writing projects and public speaking.

Candidates should have strong computer and internet research skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and prior experience with using databases; solid writing ability; excellent interpersonal skills and speaking ability; professional attitude, email, and phone etiquette; facility with numbers; strong organizational and record-keeping skills; good judgment; and the ability to manage details effectively. Prior office experience and college degree required. Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of nonprofit work is strongly preferred. Familiarity with and understanding of nonprofit financial statements is an advantage. 

Level of Language Proficiency

Excellent communication skills in English are required. Additional language skills may be helpful but are not required.
