Position: Head of Sales

Reports To: Director of Operations & Finance

Position Type: Full-Time


ICW's mission is to reduce gun violence by amplifying the voice and agency of people who have been most impacted by systemic racism and mass incarceration.

We partner with program participants through case management and careers in and beyond personal training. Individuals are elevated as experts in fitness and the social issues they've lived. ICW is a culture and community in which power dynamics are flipped, social capital is bridged, and new leaders emerge in the fight to combat long-standing inequities.


Position Overview: The Head of Sales works directly with leadership at ICW to grow all earned income streams and enhance the business operations of our social enterprise. At ICW, you won’t simply be growing earned income, you’ll be increasing economic mobility, flipping power dynamics, and working on the frontlines of individual impact.

The growth of our earned income streams has created career pathways for trainers and participants at ICW which have led to people taking their first vacation ever – not only their first vacation, but also taking their children on vacations that they were never able to have growing up – it has created incomes where trainers can now afford rent, and for some trainers to begin to look at home ownership. The Head of Sales is not just a sales position, it’s a position that drives social impact, that connects individuals, families, and companies to the broader ICW mission.

The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, service, and fitness. We are looking for a candidate who is leadership-minded, ask-driven, and possesses excellent communication skills. They have an urgency to grow ICW in ways that are driven by our mission, vision, and values.

They should demonstrate a high level of ownership, and the ability to deal with ambiguity. They should be driven to solve problems, create solutions, and leverage feedback to improve processes, services, and customer loyalty. 

In addition to our current earned income streams – personal training, corporate training, gym amenities and rentals – they will also help to explore and develop new strategies for earned income. While this position is primarily focused on deepening customer engagement and satisfaction, on increasing word of mouth referrals, some time will be spent on generating awareness and new leads.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The Head of Sales is focused on growing all earned income revenue streams at ICW. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Corporate Training

  • Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with corporations and key stakeholders . Build upon prior success in established partnerships to continue to grow value.
  • Ensure satisfaction of existing corporate partnerships, and identify net new avenues for growth.
  • Build and leverage programs that increase the long-term value of the partnerships for our corporate customers.
  • Extend brand and awareness of the ICW Mission broadly within our corporate customers
  • Work closely with our customers to drive program enhancement and development, using data to validate program needs.
  • Close new leads generated from word of mouth and events.

Personal Training

  • Define and pursue outreach strategies to grow personal training clients at our gyms.
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation to client acquisition to client retention and loyalty.

Gym Amenities and Rentals

  • Promote ICW gym amenity services, where ICW runs corporate gyms
  • Engage companies in our corporate gym amenity for Kendall Square
  • Promote rental of our gym space in off hours – to personal trainers, to recreational athletic teams, to organizations

General

  • Leading and advising members of the sales team towards successful completion of acquisition and retention goals.
  • Improving operations as it relates to the sales process for new and repeat customers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a sales or partnership development role (2+ years experience)
  • Ability to effectively and confidently communicate with VP & C-level clients – including CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, and COOs of multi million and multi billion dollar companies
  • Deep understanding of corporate partnerships
  • Analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data to support customer anecdote
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in composing concise, accurate and appropriately targeted responses.
  • Driven & persistent mentality, ability to learn tools and processes, effectively using them to enhance sales and service delivery
  • Personal passion for the ICW mission
