Program Associate (German Language Required)

The Regional Office North America of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), based in Washington, DC, is looking for a Program Associate for the World Order and Globalization Hub. The World Order and Globalization Hub is part of an initiative by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation to establish regional hubs of expertise on pressing international issues. The Hub fosters dialogue among political, business and scientific multipliers by encouraging increased mutual understanding within the global economic landscape. The objective of the Hub is to facilitate a transfer of experiences among experts from non-governmental organizations, international associations, political parties and think tanks, in order to develop innovative and mutually beneficial policy solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing policy papers and analyses on global economic issues as it relates to the topics of World Order and Globalization Hub programming
  • Conducting interviews with international and US-based experts in a variety of formats (print, video, podcasts, etc.)
  • Assisting the Program Manager in planning and promoting events both in the US and in cooperation with FNF offices globally
  • Supporting the Program Manager in the organization and conceptual project coordination of complex international study tours, workshops and panel discussions
  • Establishing and maintaining contacts to project-related partner organizations


Qualifications:

  • Completed MA degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Communications and similar
  • Relevant experience in policy analysis and/or project coordination
  • Experience working with political institutions and stakeholders
  • Excellent English and German language skills (working language will be German, programs conducted in English)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a keen sense for working in diverse, international networks
  • Exemplary capacity for teamwork and ability to work well as part of a small team
  • High degree of independence and readiness to contribute to the conceptual development of the projects of our office
  • Identification with the goals of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom
