At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood. The RHY Supervisor will oversee outreach and case management staff; and the implementation of services to run away, homeless, and at-risk youth at The Door.  


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise provision of outreach and case management services to at least 1,700 runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth annually
  • Meet with Assistant Director regularly to define and shape the direction of the program 
  • Act as liaison between program staff and assistant director 
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate case management and outreach staff as delegated by assistant director 
  • Design and implement new program activities, including Saturday drop-in hours, as suggested by assistant director 
  • Assist with data collection, programmatic grant compliance and reporting
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise MSW Case Management interns
  • Support RHY program by assisting with behavior management of drop-in space, as well as basic needs services
  • Assist with intake, lunch program, and direct case management when needed
  • Ensure quality control of programmatic activities 
  • Develop linkages with outside organizations and agencies and maintain up to date resource information
  • Integrate and coordinate agency services to support the needs of runaway and homeless youth
  • Attend and participate in all programmatic and agency-wide meetings and trainings
  • Implement and support all agency policies and decisions as defined by management 
  • Represent The Door at outside events and functions, as needed 
  • Any other activities as defined by Assistant Director 


Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in social work or related field
  • MSW required, SIFI eligibility preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people
  • Experience with urban homeless youth and LGBTQ population, including assessment, counseling and case management, demonstrated by a minimum of 3 years of service delivery
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and practice the principals of positive youth development
  • Experience managing City, State and Federal grants is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Mandarin, or French preferred
