Communications Associate

Help defend democracy by joining our team of dedicated staff as a spokesperson for a political culture of transparency and facts. Your efforts will be crucial to our democracy as we head toward the 2022 elections!

Vote Smart - a national organization designed to protect citizens from fake news and provide direct access to the factual records on those we elect - is seeking a Communications Associate to help with a variety of communications and other efforts, including email marketing and advance work. This position will work from Tucson, AZ.

Duties may include:

• Helping create content for email and other marketing; assisting with graphic design as needed
• Helping write and edit other external communications to members and public
• Communicating with corporate and other organizational contacts
• Researching and assisting with new outreach campaigns
• Providing administrative assistance to the organization President, as necessary

Skills desired:

• A strong interest in politics
• Articulate verbal and good writing skills are essential
• Strong editing skills; an ability to set politics aside and write in a nonpartisan manner
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to externally communicate courteously and effectively
• Effective time management skills; ability to keep oneself organized without supervision
• Social media and graphic design experience is a bonus
