About Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPS-SF)

PPS-SF recognizes that families/caregivers are critical to strong public schools. Public schools are uniquely positioned social structures that often cross traditional divides of race, income, language and geography. All parents want their children to attend high quality schools where they will be supported to learn and grow in safe, nurturing, and engaging environments.

San Francisco public schools are an important vehicle to advance civic and community connection, build relationships across difference, and bridge gaps to address pervasive economic inequities. The work of Parents for Public Schools-SF is focused on strengthening the processes, systems and practices of parent engagement and partnership to ensure meaningful and equitable opportunities for all students, caregivers and families. Our work supports families and caregivers to be informed and engaged advocates for their students, their schools, and the district, and encourages the San Francisco Unified School District to be responsive in meeting the needs of students, families and caregivers.

Since 1999, Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPS-SF) has helped over 290,000 families to understand and navigate the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and individual schools.
