Description

Program Management: Responsible for assisting Director of Program with development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of GRIOT programs and activities; establish and maintain open and effective communication with community providers and organizations; and oversee volunteer coordination and orientation.

Currently this role is hybrid with in-person expectations every Tuesday and Thursday at the downtown Brooklyn location. Work from home on Mon/Wed/Thurs. This is subject to change in the fall of 2024 and will be an in-person role.

Hours are from 10-3. Must be open to flexible hours and assisting with NYC outings and/or special events.

32/hrs week    

Position has the possibility to be fulltime.

 Program Assistant      

  • Responsible assisting with all virtual programs         
  • Overseas process for new Virtual Participant Intakes-         
  • Assist with all data inputting -         
  • Responsible for weekly member calls to Buddy 2 Buddy members
  • Oversees the proper collection of data required for Buddy 2 Buddy reporting.
  • Serves a program representative at community outreach events.       
  • Guide the organization’s wellness programs along with providing guidance to our LGBTQ older adults program.         
  • Outreach to requesting participants with daily program information
  • Assist with GRIOT’s mission of providing health and wellness, educational trainings, advocacy, civic
  • Engagement, volunteer, and leadership development opportunities to its LGBTQ older adults members.        
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of the day-to-day operations of SAGE-GRIOT Circle’s programs.

Required Skills/Qualifications:        

Computer proficient ·        

Strong organizational skills       

Excellent writing and oral communication skills·        

Ability to multi-task in fast-paced atmosphere ·        

Flexible and dependable-

This position requires some flexibility around scheduling. Some weekend and evening hours availability when needed.

Strongly Desired Qualifications        

Experience working in the aging field and/or providing service to people of color or LGBTQ communities.
