Position: HR Coordinator

Reports to: HR Manager

Position Summary: The HR Coordinator works to optimize and ensure accuracy of internal HR processes. This role will assist directly with the hiring and onboarding process. The HR Coordinator will work with the HR Manager to ensure data accuracy of the committee’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Paylocity, and employee files.

 Reporting Location: DC Metro area based hybrid

 Responsibilities Include:

●     Serves as an initial point of contact for employees on HR matters. Responds to and routes

employee phone calls, emails, and in-person requests or concerns, as necessary.

●     Coordinate the hiring process and recruitment efforts with hiring managers, including drafting

of job postings, coordinating vetting, and extension of job offers.

●     Coordinate onboarding process for new hires and offboarding for exiting employees, including

coordination with the IT team.

●     Input and maintain up-to-date records in various employee platforms (address, position titles,


●     Assist the HR Manager with processing employee personnel documents relating to insurance,

payroll, taxes, etc.

●     Provide resources, training and coaching to all staff to ensure a positive, inclusive and

productive work culture.

●     Collaborate with the HR Manager, legal team, and consultants to ensure compliance with local,

state, and federal regulations.

●     Provide support on complex and confidential personnel issues.

●     Assist the Operations Department with other duties as assigned.


●     Minimum of 2 years of administrative, HR, or transactional experience; preferably in the

political/campaign atmosphere.

●     Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work with a sense of urgency and meet tight deadlines in a

fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and teamwork

●     The ideal candidate is a skilled and thoughtful communicator who can effectively work with

people from a variety of experiences and backgrounds; customer service oriented

●     Strong attention to detail

●     Draws from team members’ strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents; contributes

where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues with regular

feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the team

●     Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

Salary: 55,000/annually
