Bennington College seeks an engaging and highly organized professional to provide administrative support to the Office of Human Resources. This dynamic administrative professional will be an individual who genuinely wishes to help others thrive - by assisting employees and applicants with making connections to resources and services.
The human resources coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries to the Office and is responsible for meeting/greeting visitors and guests, ensuring a welcoming and positive customer experience. The coordinator handles a wide range of administrative functions - manages calendars, organizes meetings/events/interviews, responds and directs calls/inquiries, data entry and reporting, advertising vacancies, supporting onboarding of new hires, budgeting, maintaining personnel files and interfacing with a host of internal and external constituents including employees and applicants. The human resources coordinator reports to the Director of Human Resources and supports the work of the Human Resources team.

The ideal candidate will be meticulously organized and incredibly nimble - able to successfully guide people and projects in a fast-paced, small team environment. The coordinator must be an effective communicator, an adept and tactical scheduler, and an agile multi-tasker. The capacity for clear, thoughtful communication and an eagle eye for detail are crucial. The position requires the ability to prioritize competing work and deadlines while producing accurate work and an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
The position requires demonstrated administrative experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; bachelor’s degree and human resources experience preferred. Candidates must be creative problem-solvers and possess strong communication skills - demonstrating an ability to build relationships and develop partnerships across the College. The position requires exemplary organizational skills, remarkable attention to detail and strong technology orientation/proficiency using Google Suite, MS Office; Human Resources Information Systems (i.e., ADP Workforce Now and eTIME) experience preferred.

From campus, it is a short drive to the cultural offerings of the northern Berkshires in Massachusetts, Albany, New York, and many of Vermont’s top recreational centers. New York City, Boston, and Burlington, Vermont are all within three and a half hours by car.
