Gay Men's Health Crisis, GMHC seeks a Financial Management Case Worker responsible for the coordination and delivery of harm reduction services to Financial Management clients. The Financial Management Case Worker will provide care coordination, intake assessments, as well as participating in clinical training to Financial Management staff.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are mandatory requirements of the job:

  • Meet with clients to coordinate enrollment process into the Rep Payee program
  • Maintain regular follow up contact with clients HRA HIV/AIDS case managers
  • Review intake assessments and coordinate result linkages to other medical and social service providers
  • Refer clients to other GMHC services based on assessments
  • Follow up requests with HRA case Managers for client current (RPR) Rent Portion Responsibility, copy client current lease
  • Review and follow up on monthly utility bills on behalf of clients
  • Maintain all relevant and up to date client data in charts
  • Comply with state regulations and applicable documentation including statistic reporting
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, or two years college-level courses in human services or related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in working with the LGBTQ population is preferred

  • Interpersonal capacity for empathic understanding and nonjudgmental attitude when engaging clients with substance use problems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills along with above average writing, documentation and computer skills are essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team is essential
  • Must be a professional and responsible person who is able to develop and maintain interagency liaisons as a means of meeting clients' needs
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Use of computer software --Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook, and Excel
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
