Colorado Legal Services is seeking a temporary, full-time Help Desk Specialist working with the CLS Technology Unit. The individual will provide basic to intermediate help desk support such as solving usage problems and fulfilling service desk requirements to CLS staff and volunteers.

The Help Desk Specialist reports to the Technology Manager and works directly and collaboratively with Technology Unit staff. While all CLS staff are currently working remotely, the help desk specialist could work from any CLS office in the state once in-person operations resume.

Responsibilities:

  • Responding to staff queries in a timely and accurate way, via chat, video conferencing, email, phone or by providing assistance in person
  • Maintaining documentation of interactions with staff and volunteers
  • Assisting with installing and configuring computer systems and applications within the organization
  • Assisting in troubleshooting desktop environments running Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to software, computer and network connectivity
  • Analyze, report and fix hardware malfunctions
  • Help to manage technical aspects of onboarding and offboarding staff and volunteers
  • Follow up with staff to ensure technical issues are resolved
  • Help train individuals to use specific software and its features
  • Share feature requests and effective workarounds with Technology Unit team members
  • Help to identify staff and volunteer needs
  • Update databases on services provided to staff (technical documentation)
  • Assist in technology trainings including creation of a video library of technology skills and tips
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Some travel to field offices throughout Colorado may be required


Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience as a Technology Help Desk Specialist
  • Experience using remote support tools
  • Proficient in Office 365, with VoIP phone systems and working in Accounting software
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Patience when responding to challenging issues or personnel is required
  • Ability to work as an efficient and effective member of a team

An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field is required for the position. Industry-specific certification in relevant software and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Must have strong customer service background and a positive, persistent approach to problem-solving. Must have time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable work deadlines. Must be able to accept constructive criticism and staff and client feedback regarding their experience with software or technology services. Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with staff.
