About CLEE: The mission of the Center for Leadership and Educational Equity (CLEE)  is to provide leaders at all levels with professional learning and support to create equitable outcomes for students in our schools. Continuous Improvement Facilitators/Coaches will work across CLEE ’s programs to train and support educators to use facilitative leadership to continuously improve practices and beliefs that increase equity. CLEE is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic staff in a multicultural environment, and strongly encourages applicants from underrepresented communities to apply.   

CLEE programming serves a variety of leaders, including teams of educators and aspiring, novice and experienced school and district leaders. From our longest standing program, the Principal Residency Network (PRN) that prepares aspiring school leaders through a residency based preparation route to certification, to our suite of programming under our Learning Leader Network (LLN) and Executive Leadership Programs (ELP), all our programming shares four features:

  • Uses research-based designs and practices
  • Models best practices for engaging learners of all ages
  • Provides continuous support and uses gradual release
  • Aims at equitable educational outcomes to liberate educators and students to lead their own learning

Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement Facilitators/Coaches use expertise in continuous improvement with educators at every level, including teachers aspiring, mentor, and novice principals and district leaders by:

  • Designing, facilitating, coaching, and leading transformational learning experiences across diverse groups of educators and for individual leaders
  • Designing and evolving CLEE curriculum towards future scaling, adapting it to virtual and in person settings  
  • Facilitating with both confidence and competence with a relentless focus on leading programs towards high outcomes and impact
  • Leading and engaging in collaboration with CLEE colleagues and external partners to best meet intended project/program outcomes

Competencies and Dispositions: Successful Continuous Improvement Facilitators/Coaches also demonstrate the following competencies and dispositions:

  • Setting Direction: Is effective at communicating purpose, goals, successes and challenges with partners, participants and colleagues
  • Monitoring Progress: Is effective at using data to continuously improve program impact on (a) participants' perception on programming, (b) adult practices in schools and (c) student outcomes
  • Building Capacity in Role: Is effective and is continuously increasing capacity in own role
  • Building Capacity to Collaborate: Is effective at implementing coherent (codified) programming and participating in structures to vet and share innovations across organizations
  • Building Capacity to Lead: Takes responsibility for being effective at the role, including fostering collaboration and building capacity for others to lead work
  • Reorganizing Systems: Is effective at using the agreed-upon technical and adaptive systems to support meeting collective outcomes

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications: In order to fulfill the requirements for the role, the ideal Continuous Improvement Facilitator/Coach will have the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

Role Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Educator, school leader, and/or district leader 
  • Leader of successful school and/or school-systems change
  • Facilitator of adult learning, including planning and facilitating the development of transformative educators using innovative, high engagement, collaborative processes and protocols both in person and virtually
  • Learning designer with knowledge of adult development and constructivist learning theory
  • Coaches using uses a variety of coaching strategies and techniques to increase capacity of leaders 
  • Leading the use of  disaggregated data to facilitate learning for continuous improvement 
  • Skilled at receiving/providing growth producing feedback

Qualifications for the multiple positions:

For positions supporting current and aspiring school administrators :

  • Prior experience as a principal and/or district level administration
  • Current Building Administrator/District Administrator certification, preferably from RI or other state 

For all positions (some supporting educators and ed stakeholders and some support school administrators):

  • Experience leading instructional improvements
  • Demonstration of success in the role’s essential experience and skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred 
  • While CLEE has adopted a hybrid work model, given the requirement of in-person commitments in the greater Rhode Island/Massachusetts region, candidates live within drivable distance to CLEE’s home office in Providence, Rhode Island.  Currently, Continuous Improvement Facilitators/Coaches can expect ~approximately 16 days in the field in Massachusetts and ~ approximately twice monthly in-person meetings in Rhode Island
  • Able to work typical hours with early and late hours a few times a month for programming  
  • Willing to use a personal vehicle for facilitation and site visits in the field, and be able to work at home while maintaining a focus on partners
  • Savvy with social media, Google, Asana or other collaborative online tools

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Current RI/MA Building Administrator/District Administrator certification 
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the programs run by CLEE and/or School Reform Initiative (SRI), continuous improvement, and/or another transformative adult leadership development organization

Specifications

  • Full time, annual contract, competitive non-profit salary and benefits, including:
  • CLEE sets values-aligned salaries based on current pay scale and budget.  The non-negotiable starting salary for this role is salary $85,000 or $95,000 and will depend on current certifications and prior school administrator experience.  
  • Starting salary for candidates who hold Building Administrator Certification, Superintendent Certification, and/or have extensive past school administrator experience is $95,000.  
  • Starting salary for candidates who do not currently hold designated certifications nor have had extensive prior school administrator experience is $85,000. 
  • CLEE pay entire premium for excellent medical, dental, and life insurance 
  • CLEE contributes 8% of gross salary in IRA retirement account, which is fully vested on day one
  • CLEE provides 40 days of Paid holidays/PTO , as well as flex/comp time
  • Professional development budget of $2,000/person
  • Investment in you as a learning professional with leadership opportunities as CLEE scales programming
  • A professional culture focused on growth, collaboration, and above all, increasing equity for youth and educators
  • Annual contributions/premiums paid by CLEE on your behalf.  Estimated average for all CLEE employees may be considerably higher or lower for specific employees,
