Reports to: Development and Special Events Manager



The Synetic Theater Audience Services Associate is responsible for overseeing Box Office ticketing operations, group sales and accounting, and customer service. Reporting directly to the Development and Special Events Manager, this person is responsible for overseeing box office assistants. Key responsibilities include:


Box Office Ticketing Operations

·     Manage daily operations of ticket sales

·     Process complimentary and guaranteed ticket requests

·     Supervise Box Office Associates

·     Manage scheduling and re-scheduling box office shifts

·     Assist in the efficient development and implementation of all ticket office policies and procedures

·     Train Box Office Staff on software and relevant procedures

·     Oversee ticket distribution and sales before each performance, executing ticket orders and exchanges and assisting patrons

·     Assist with audience management: handle patron issues, complaints, inquiries

·     Field patron questions

·     Assist with FOH operations and concessions, as needed

·     Generate accurate cash reports at the end of each performance

·     Assist Marketing Manager with related projects, as needed


Group sales and Accounting

·     Develop potential customer lists

·     Create relationships with new and current groups

·     Oversee group sales from initial contact through completion of a paid group order

·     Receive and respond to all group sales inquiries

·     Work closely with Development Manager to ensure the payments of all group sales

·     Maintain database of current and potential group sales opportunities

·     Contribute in the development of an annual budget


Customer Service

·     Assist customers with purchase decisions

·     Resolve customer conflicts with guidance from supervisor

·     Maintain knowledge of items currently available to customers

·     Understand and relate purchasing policies to customers

·     Process phone and in person orders using OvationTix

·     Provide feedback regarding customer entertainment preference and purchasing habits

·     Respond to customer inquiries, requests, complaints, and feedback left on company voicemail during off hours ensuring that these are resolved in a timely, courteous and informed manner

·     Contribute to the environment of the box office in a manner that is conducive to customer service, sales promotion, safety, and quality of work life

·     Assist with night of show walk-up sales and will call distribution

·     Perform other duties, as required


Skills & Qualifications:

·     Attention to detail

·     Customer service experience, preferably in the ticketing, entertainment, and nonprofit arts arena

·     Must demonstrate ability to problem-solve and to handle varied projects simultaneously

·     Strong organizational and project management skills

·     A Team player who can work well with others under stress

·     Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

·     Comfortable communicating via telephone and email

·     A visionary and strategic thinker and problem solver

·     Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures and fiscal responsibility

·     Possess high standards of integrity, credibility, and reliability

This is a Part-Time hourly contract position.
