Our Mission:

IGNITE Worldwide (Inspiring Girls Now In Technology Evolution) is the answer to achieving gender equity in STEM! We work directly with teachers during the school day to provide programming that promotes STEM education and career advancement for girls and non-binary youth from historically marginalized communities. Through hands-on events that connect students with role models who live and work in their communities, students recognize new possibilities for their futures.

The Role:

IGNITE Worldwide is seeking a collaborative and passionate Director of Development to work remotely based in the Puget Sound region. The Director of Development will create and implement fundraising strategies to increase IGNITE Worldwide’s revenue streams, identify prospective donors, nurture existing relationships, and secure contributions. 

This is a unique opportunity to join our rapidly growing organization! IGNITE Worldwide is in demand by teachers, schools, and companies, and is expanding nationally and internationally. You will work closely with the CEO & Founder and Advisory Board to build relationships with our impressive base of dedicated corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual supporters. Our program is unique in that our corporate sponsors and individual supporters engage directly in the program and in turn are highly motivated to support our work. We are looking to bring on a member of our team who will be with us for the long-term.

We are looking for someone based in Seattle or the greater Puget Sound area.


  • Establish fundraising goals in coordination with the CEO and oversee all fundraising activities
  • Maintain relationships with 50+ corporate sponsors and create strategy to grow corporate sponsor investments
  • Steward relationships with hundreds of donors at a variety of levels and provide timely and meaningful acknowledgements of all major contributions
  • Manage annual individual donor fundraising campaigns, including growing a monthly giving program
  • Plan and execute IGNITE Worldwide’s annual Gala fundraiser with a fundraising goal of $500k+. Manage auction item procurement, securing sponsorships, and event coordination and logistics
  • Manage social media fundraising strategies and campaigns in partnership with IGNITE Worldwide staff
  • Maintain effective systems to identify and cultivate new prospects
  • Build relationships with a wide variety of institutions and individuals that serve as likely sources of new revenue
  • Maintain and make frequent updates to Salesforce donor database
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Passion and motivation to support our mission of inspiring girls and non-binary students to explore and pursue STEM careers
  • Experience researching, cultivating and stewarding individual and corporate donors, including major donors
  • A proven track record in securing major gifts and growing existing donor contributions
  • Demonstrated interest in building positive and authentic relationships
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and superb presentation skills
  • Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect and organize data, synthesize findings, and make data-informed recommendations for stewardship and growth strategies. 
  • Commitment to the values of inclusion, diversity, equity
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar donor CRM. Technically-savvy and strong interest in learning new technologies
  • Skilled in Google Suite, social media platforms, Give Lively, Buffer, Microsoft Office, fundraising software, Constant Contact, and Wordpress
  • Ability to reflect an optimistic and positive attitude and convey sensitivity and discretion based on the needs of donors
  • Ability to simultaneously plan, organize, implement, and manage multiple projects and priorities 
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Passion for organization and project management
  • Ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Bachelor's degree and/or successful relevant work experience
  • 5 or more years of work experience in a similar role
