RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Business Recovery Specialist is to be a creative, hands-on, entrepreneurial collaborator in our Microenterprise Program. The Business Recovery Specialist will lead all programming for the Washington County Business Recovery Center in Forest Grove, OR. The County has sponsored business recovery centers to serve as a one-stop location for local businesses to access resources to mitigate COVID-19 impacts and re-opening in accordance with guidelines of the State of Oregon. This will include bilingual, Spanish/ English, customized coaching, technical assistance, training, access to capital, networking opportunities, and other resources. The ideal candidate will be inspired by and fully committed to Adelante Mujeres' vision and mission.

• Responsible for the effective management of the Business Recovery Center

• Lead the Business Recovery Center's marketing and outreach efforts; lead efforts within the Latinx, Spanish speaking business community

• Work in collaboration with the Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tualatin, and Forest Grove Cornelius Chambers of Commerce, who are partners in this program; and serve as the direct liaison to Washington County who is the grantor

• Provide technical assistance, one-on-one coaching, and referral support to small business owners in all aspects of business

• Assist business owners with access to capital by identifying lending or grant resources and supporting with application submissions

• Assist business owners with access to market opportunities by identifying sales and marketing outlets

• Develop, coordinate, and present specialty workshops on various topics

• Develop and maintain a network of community members and partners who have knowledge, experience, and information on small business topics

• Track, report, and evaluate grant data and metrics

• Assist with supervision of interns and volunteers when applicable ▪ Develop and maintain competency in Adelante's mission, work, and needs through regular exposure to Adelante's activities, clients, and staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities

• Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish- strong written and oral skills; culturally proficient

• An undergraduate degree or comparable experience in business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, or related field

• Have two years of experience in teaching and facilitating courses for adult learners

• Have four years of experience in customer service

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Strong understanding of online technology platforms such as MS TEAMS, MS SharePoint, Zoom, Facebook, Canva, and Google Hangouts

• Diplomatic communicator, team player, critical thinker, problem solver

• Highly customer service-oriented; able to enforce rules assertively and respectfully as needed

• Passionate about entrepreneurship, education, social justice, diversity, and women's empowerment

• Demonstrated experience working with and motivating Latinx families

• Experience as a small business owner or in economic development a plus


The ideal candidate will also:

• Complete and pass a Criminal Background Check

• Possess current driver's license and auto insurance coverage

• Ability to work evening and weekend hours; ability to travel to off-site venues for meetings, events, and professional development is required

SALARY & BENEFITS:

• Salary range: $40,000-$45,000 depending on qualifications

• This is a grant-funded full-time position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2021. Although the grant is expected to end on that date, sometimes additional funding can be obtained to extend the position.

• Competitive compensation package including health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, professional development opportunities, paid holidays (11.5 days annually), paid leave of absence, sick days (up to 12 days annually), and vacation per year (20 days years one through five, 25 days after five years)

• Telework: up to 2 days a week
