Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the philanthropic heart of the Broadway community. Money raised by Broadway Cares funds organizations across the country that provide lifesaving medication, healthy meals, counseling and emergency assistance for those in need and crisis. Broadway Cares is the single largest financial supporter of The Actors Fund, helping everyone in entertainment and the performing arts, and awards annual grants to more than 450 social service organizations responding to the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS and other critical, debilitating illnesses, now including COVID-19, in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. 


About this Career Opportunity

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS seeks a dynamic self-starter to join our Development team to coordinate, fulfill and expand creative fundraising opportunities. These include: the Care-Tix program, selling house seats and premium Broadway tickets; event ticketing; in-person and online auctions; and event host committees. The Development & VIP Ticketing Coordinator will report directly to the Ticketing Manager and work closely with the Director of Development, Senior Development Officer and other members of the Development and Communications teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer Care-Tix program, coordinating the sale of house seats and premium Broadway tickets 
  • Manage auction process to completion for annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction and online auctions
  • Manage communication with auction donors and facilitate once-in-a-lifetime experiences
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with members of Broadway industry
  • Grow and coordinate event host committees in partnership with Event Ticket Manager
  • Cultivate relationships with Care-Tix, auction and event donors to deepen and expand their support
  • Coordinate ticketing and seating for selected events
  • Assist with will call for all events in NYC, Fire Island, Catskill and other locations as required
  • Process payments and data entry associated with events, donations, auctions and ticket purchases
  • Participate with the entire staff in facilitating Broadway Cares’ red bucket fundraising in theaters on and off Broadway for two annual six-week fundraising periods

 

Qualifications

  • At least two years’ experience in theatrical/event ticketing, VIP experience fulfillment and/or fundraising 
  • Ability to discuss current Broadway productions and make informed recommendations 
  • Comfort soliciting donations and coordinating the solicitation of gifts, or willingness to learn
  • Excellent written communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including mail merge and Outlook)
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Drive (including forms, sheets and docs)
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT, Donor Drive or similar databases a plus
  • Passionate commitment to the mission of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the people we help and the organizations we support
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
  • Personal drive and initiative
  • Willingness to be a team player, assisting and supporting as needed
  • Affection for dogs
