Technical

Maintain a high level of expertise on issues related to economic and gender inequality and help to develop Oxfam policy and research in support of those issues.

Provide strategic support to Oxfam staff and partners to engage the IMF effectively, including tracking IMF operations in select countries, creating opportunities for direct advocacy and learning, reviewing publications/letters/policy recommendations, and developing briefings.

Author and/or commission publications related to IMF and inequality/gender/civic space/country operations.

Leadership

Develop and implement advocacy strategies designed to influence the IMF’s policies and practices on gender and inequality in line with Oxfam’s globally agreed campaign priorities, and in coordination with allies.

Build a network of contacts and relationships, gather information, and advocate with the Board and

staff of the IMF on particular country operations and key policy areas.

Represent Oxfam at meetings and conferences, write blogs, give media interviews and speak publicly.

Coordination and Collaboration

Actively participate in and contribute to NGO networks and advocacy alliances relevant to IFI advocacy.

Participate in various Oxfam teams and strategy development to ensure Oxfam’s work on IMF and

inequality/gender is well integrated into Oxfam’s broader influencing work on those themes, and vice versa.

Contribute to IFI Advocacy Office’s planning and reporting internally and externally.

Actively participate in and support Oxfam’s engagement in the World Bank/IMF Spring and Annual meetings.
