POSITION SUMMARY 

The American Business Immigration Coalition is looking for a seasoned Operations Director to join its Senior Leadership Team. This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing (and where necessary, creating) internal administrative systems and ensuring that all systems are conducive to a productive work environment for ABIC’s staff and board. These systems include, but are not limited to, accounting, payroll and benefits, insurance administration, audits, contract compliance, human resources, record retention, technology, and data management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Play key leadership role on the senior leadership team. 
  • Provide support to the senior leadership team in helping to move organizational priorities.  
  • Participates in overall hiring decisions and partner with Directors on their hiring needs. 
  • Create and oversee yearly performance evaluations.  
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy in partnership with Directors. 
  • Ensures timely and compliant payroll operations.



  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.   
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to Directors; for major changes, meets with staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets to achieve financial objectives.  
  • Supervise a finance manager (to be hired). 
  • Responsible for compliance with ABIC’s 501(C)(3) nonprofit and ABIC Action 501(c)(4) nonprofit status, employee, and corporation requirements. 
  • Ensures compliance with state registrations, retirement regulations, and charity registrations.
  • Enhance key administrative systems, including human resources, payroll, healthcare, and other employee benefits. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field. 
  • Excellent finance and budget skills, including familiarity with QuickBooks. 
  • Working knowledge of Google’s G-Suite. 
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standard, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Experience with tracking government grants is a plus. 
  • Knowledge and skills developed through 8 + years of work experience in a related job
