Stand Up For Salem Inc. (SUFS) is privileged to announce its receipt of the federally funded AmeriCorps VISTA program, part of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). We are accepting AmeriCorps VISTA applications in different specialty areas to serve in Salem City for the next year including Community Health, Housing, Organizational Capacity Building and Small Business Development.
While the living stipend is modest, ($13,293 a year) volunteers will also receive other benefits including a $5920 Segal Education award to pay for college or use toward student loan repayment. Other benefits include assistance with finding low income housing in Salem and a small relocation stipend. VISTA's may work part time and child care is available to qualified applicants.
