JOB LOCATION: 46 Barrow Street    

FLSA: Non-Exempt

JOB STATUS: Part-time

HOURS: 4-5 hours per day, Mon-Fri


Position Summary:  

The Receptionist provides administrative support for the Registrar of the Music School. The Receptionist is responsible for afternoon front desk coverage, recordkeeping, and assistance with Registrar duties.

Qualifications:  

  • A self-starter with strong organization skills. Associate’s Degree in Music, Arts, Nonprofit Management or a related field. 
  • Experience in customer service, communicating with the public, recordkeeping, and database management systems.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of music education.
  • A self-starter with strong organization skills.

 

Essential Functions Statement

  • Provide information of all the Greenwich House MS programs to the public. 
  • Monitor entry to the building and cover front desk in the afternoon and evening hours.
  • Work along with the Registrar; register students, collect tuition, and manually record all monies into database management system. 
  • Advise and consult with the Registrar on student and teacher issues; keep the Registrar and Director informed of progress and any problems. 
  • Communicate with parents on lesson, teacher, and scheduling issues. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Registrar, including but not limited to filing and recordkeeping, management of schedule, human resources, as well as other projects upon assignment. 
  • Facilitate practice room rentals and conference room clients as needed. 
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Registrar or Director.
