The Educational/Instructional Technology Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in the development, implementation and coordination of the school’s technology curriculum; enhance integration of technology throughout the curriculum; promote the effective use of instructional technology throughout the school; and, provide staff with professional development opportunities.

Performance Responsibilities:

●   Provide leadership in the development, management, coordination and support of the integration of instructional technology into the school’s curriculum

●    Identify, plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings, project implementation teams and inter-departmental planning groups in order to ensure meaningful and effective use of technology in the support of the school’s strategic and operational goals

●    Identify needs and plan school wide instructional technology related professional development

●    Manage day to day tasks and roles of the Instructional Technology Specialists in developing informational and instructional supports to meet the needs of users

●    Provide parent liaison and training services

Implement guidelines for student usage and one-to-one program devices

●    Other duties assigned by the Academic Director

Qualifications:

●    Master’s level certification in either Education Technology Specialist or Special Education

●    Minimum of five years of teaching experience in the K-12 special education environment

●    Software proficiency working with Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office Suite, Native OSX Applications (iMovie), Web 2.0, Social Media Tools and Image editing tools

●    Hardware proficiency working with LCD projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, mobile devices (iPods), and digital image capture tools

●    Ability to evaluate, interpret end-user needs and to develop/recommend appropriate solutions

●    Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal as well as technical and non-technical communication skills)

●    Effective oral and written communication skills to create, compose and edit written materials

●    Ability to work successfully under direction, independently and in conjunction with other team members that have varying levels of technical expertise

●    Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple activities and projects

●    Ability to read and understand technical materials

Physical Requirements and Essential Functions:

●    Must be able to control and restrain students under your supervision. Must be able to lift, carry and hold students and classroom equipment.

●    Must be able to maintain visual and auditory supervision of students.

●    Must be able to accompany students to various parts of the building and outdoor space for meals, activities, fire drills.

●    Must have physical stamina and flexibility (walking, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, running, stretching, reaching, standing, sitting on the floor) for participating in students' activities and speaking with them at their eye level, playing with them and to clean up toys and equipment from the floor.

●    Must be able to maneuver and/or set up students' furniture, i.e., tables and chairs.

●    Must have basic knowledge of First Aid/CPR.

●    Must be able to read, write and speak English to write parent notes, evaluation forms, lesson plans and other correspondence concerning students.

●    Must be able to communicate with students, parents and staff using clear, understandable speech.

●    Must be able to read aloud books, signs, posters, etc. to students and to silently read memos, lesson plans, school policies, emergency procedures and other related correspondence.
