The FREEDOM Unit is a Day Treatment Alternative To Incarceration Program. Freedom is designed to assist clients in making the transition from criminal activity to positive, legitimate and productive lives. Clients are mandated by the Court for specific time frames to participate in individual and group sessions.
The Case Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of his/her assigned caseload.
These activities include, but are not limited to: individual and group counseling, conducting morning meetings and caseload groups, accompanying clients to outside activities (court, recreational trips, NA/AA meetings), maintaining up-to-date case files. Under the direct supervision of the Freedom Unit Manager, the Case Manager will be responsible for the following:
§ Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions;
§ Aide clients in accessing community resources, including public assistance, housing, day care, etc;
§ Maintain accurate records in a timely and orderly fashion;
§ Maintain liaisons with relevant city, state and private not-for-profit agencies;
§ Write court reports;
§ Work with clients in developing treatment plans;
§ Perform urinalysis; and
§ Other tasks and responsibilities as the job may require.
§ Job related training or CASAC certification or training leading to certification;
§ A commitment to working with diverse group of individuals involved with criminal justice system;
§ Experience a must;
§ Good communication (verbal and written) skills
§ Criminal justice experience a plus;
§ Bilingual (English/Spanish)a plus.
