Position Summary

The Associate Director of Data Governance (ADDG) provides leadership on the use of TNC’s data assets through their strong understanding of TNC’s business and mission needs and of the IT systems/platforms/applications that support those needs. The ADDG establishes a data governance decisioning framework; metadata and reference data governance practices; data quality assessment and monitoring procedures; and data standards and guidelines. The ADDG partners with IT teams and other Business/Program stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, architecture principles, and approved target states and patterns. The ADDG stays abreast of changing business circumstances and industry trends to evaluate alternatives and develop/implement solutions in response to those changing circumstances. The ADDG provides current insights and approaches to data access and self-service alternatives to better and more quickly support business and mission needs. 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Information Technology field with years of experience in master data management and data governance disciplines including metadata management; data quality analysis; data quality remediation; data profiling and data lineage.
  • Experience with the Data Life Cycle Management (DLCM), systems life cycle and project management principles best practices and concepts.
  • Experience implementing data regulatory compliance programs such as GDPR.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience leading and collaborating with technical domain experts (data, technical, security, business, solution, etc.) to delivery cohesive solutions.
  • Experience with written, visual, and oral communication skills, ability to clearly and succinctly communicate with key Business/Program stakeholders, including senior executives.
