Our network of food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York.

What You'll Do:

You will work closely with the Director, Development to implement Met Council’s fundraising strategies. The specific tasks for this role are geared toward engaging and retaining small to mid-level donors and helping to build a major donor pipeline.

  • Manage and grow a monthly/recurring donor engagement strategy
  • Solicit small and mid-level gifts
  • Create engagement and stewardship plans for small and mid-level donors
  • Responsible for donor relationship management
  • Work with volunteer team to obtain and refer donor prospects to one another
  • Work with Director, Development on developing major donor pipeline
  • Prepare donor and prospect research
  • Communicate directly with donors to confirm and update donor information
  • Assist with recruitment and logistics for fundraising events
  • Assist with tracking and reporting fundraising trends and forecasting via Salesforce
  • Assist with administrative duties and other marketing and communication efforts as necessary, including the preparation of fundraising emails
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Understanding of trends in the philanthropic world

We'd Like You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in nonprofit management, public administration, or public policy preferred
  • Experience and proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook Calendar)
  • 2-3 years related non-profit work experience

What We Offer:

This is a full-time exempt (overtime-ineligible) position with a salary starting at $60,000 per year. The benefits package includes major medical, dental, vision and life insurance; pre-tax commuter benefits; FSA; 403(b) with employer contribution; plus generous vacation, sick leave and holidays. This is currently a hybrid position (partially remote).
