Description

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Benefits Manager.

The Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day benefits related functions for the

Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Diocesan benefits include health, vision, dental, supplemental/voluntary coverages, employer-provided benefits, EAP for priests and lay employees, priest HRA benefit, and retirement benefits for both lay employees and priests. 

The benefits team is responsible for all benefit related transactions in the UKG system, in accordance with diocesan policies and state/federal regulations for approximately 2,700 diocesan priests, religious and lay employees.  Additionally, The Benefits Manager assists the Human Resources leadership team with a variety of human resource issues.

Qualifications:  CBP, CEBS, SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.  A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in a related field and at least 3-5 years of experience in a benefits role, in a high-volume, multi-location environment, preferably with UKG experience, and in a non-profit or religious setting. 

Knowledge of HRIS systems (specifically UKG Ready) preferred.  A solid working knowledge of benefits administration, employee relations, and relevant legal issues is needed.  Also needed are a strong customer service orientation with pastoral sensitivity and professionalism, proficiency in MS Office, excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and a knowledge of Church governance.  Exemplary organizational skills, supervisory and project management experience and initiative to improve processes is desired. This position is full-time and based out of the Pastoral Center in Richmond.

The diocese provides a generous benefits package to include the following: Time-off benefits of 13 paid holidays per year, 12 vacation days (starting), 3 personal days and earn 1 sick day per month upon hire. Full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision benefits within the first 30 days of employment. Numerous other supplemental benefits are available to part-time and full-time employees, including a 403(b)-retirement plan, Life Insurance, STD/LTD and supplemental insurance products.
