Description

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a full-time Clinical Supervisor for the National Capital Area Command Harbor Light Center, located in Washington, DC.


Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Supervisor, supervises clinical staff including Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor, Counselor Aides, Wellness Center Staff, Housing Monitors, Case Managers, and Recreational Therapist; oversees daily operations of Harbor Light Center clinical facilities; ensures client charts are maintained and controlled according to licensing agencies and program protocol; serves as Harbor Light Center’s CSOSA Liaison; supervises the outpatient program.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction models. Knowledge of therapeutic treatment modalities. Skill in conducting clinical assessments. Skill in working with people to complete tasks assigned. Skill in delivery of knowledge and information to at-risk populations. Ability to use whatever materials and personnel necessary to complete tasks. Ability to maintain appropriate guidelines to ensure stability of clinical protocol.

 

Education and Experience

Masters level in Behavioral or Social Science or related field required AND three to five years of experience in the counseling environment required OR any equivalent combination or training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Licenses and Certifications

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), PhD or MD from the District of Columbia, required

 

Valid State Driver’s License (Approved Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report required)

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed seated, standing, walking, or stooping. 

 

Work may expose individual to machinery and moving parts and to contagious or infectious diseases.
