Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Director will support a myriad of administrative duties essential to support the ongoing financial and management tasks of the organization.

The Operations Director will demonstrate excellent relationship building and communication skills, strong adaptability, a passion for innovative thinking and creative problem-solving, and a willingness to support cross-functional teams as-needed in a highly entrepreneurial culture. 


Financial Support and Reconciliation

  • Manage entry and maintenance of Salesforce entries to ensure up to date financial statements
  • Receive, organize, and ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Assist in planning, maintenance and compliance of the annual budgets

Fundraising Event Management

  • Support planning and implementation of Advisory Board events
  • Manage and reconcile event donation
  • Manage communication with event donors (thank you notes, invoicing, responses, outreach)

Development Support

  • Assist in grant writing and providing supporting data
  • Assist in management of development calendar
  • Communicate with donors (thank you notes, outreach)

HR Management

  • Manage the ongoing requirements of TriNet, Spark’s Human Resources vendor
  • Serve as point person for internal general questions with HR vendor
  • Manage payroll and administrative functions of onboarding/offboarding
  • Lead by example in cultivating an inclusive, open minded work culture

Board and Executive Director/CEO Support

  • Attend board meetings and manage calendaring for meetings and events
  • Update and manage roster and communications between boards and staff
  • Provide administrative support for large scale organizational projects
  • Support and execute additional special projects, per board and CEO request

Systems Management

  • Maintain and update social media channels, website, and google suite


  • 4 year degree from a fully accredited college or university
  • At least 3 years’ experience in executive assisting, project management, or operations support role
  • Strong in technology; this position will have extensive use of google docs, spreadsheets, mail merge, PDFs, and technical systems
  • Strong cross cultural competency in order to successfully communicate and collaborate with the Spark Program Team, Advisory Board, Executive Board, and public

Salary: $70,000 

Health Benefits: Full health coverage is provided, including medical, dental and vision no more 30 days after an employee’s first day. Spark covers up to 100 percent of monthly premiums for employees, and a portion of the monthly premiums for dependents. Employee-funded flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care are offered. A life insurance policy providing $50,000 of coverage is also included.
