  • Understand ‘obstacles’ most commonly experienced by alumni;
  • Gather data on HS experience and college matriculation;
  • Understand how/and to what extent we can ‘help’ matriculation process
  • Conduct small focus groups with select alumni/parents to better understand the needs and experiences of PAVE graduates
  • Develop a systematic way of periodically ‘checking-in’ with alumni

Research and Information Gathering

  • Based on research, develop a phased plan for building out PAVE’s alumni support program
  • Network with other key players in the alumni support/college access field to gather best practices via ‘listen and learning’ meetings to further develop a plan for what an alumni support program at PAVE can and should look like
  • Research local college access organizations and develop partnerships with those that can offer resources, support, expertise, and guidance to PAVE graduates during the college application process
  • Develop a comprehensive ‘go-to’ college planning resource document for PAVE graduates/families
  • Support alumni in accessing summer opportunities (camps, internships, and jobs)

Event Planning

  • Based on the identified needs and areas of support that PAVE graduates and their families have expressed an interest in, establish a programmatic timeline of ‘signature events’ for each alumni class based on their high school year (ex. ‘Financial Aid 101’ for seniors; ‘Navigating Your First Year of High School’ for freshman, etc)
  • Identify partner organizations and/or develop in-house materials for future “signature events’
  • Plan and execute a Class of 2016 alumni event to kick-off new alumni support program
  • Lay the groundwork for the planning and execution of the full program of signature events for future years

Programmatic System-building

  • Build out branding and an internet presence for alumni program for alumni and families to utilize as a resource both to stay connected to PAVE as well as to support their needs
  • Research and implement a database/management platform that enables PAVE to operationalize relationships with graduates, including tracking ongoing outreach and contact
