Men and Women of Purpose (MWP), is dedicated to rebuilding safe, healthy, and whole communities. MWP’s comprehensive program focuses on the multiple factors that are related to social and economic problems (high-risk behavior, recidivism, chronic joblessness and homeless). MWP works to empower communities to be self-sufficient, allowing individuals, families, and communities to be proud as well as whole.

Who We Want

We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented leader who is inspired by our mission and ready to work to support our Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, a fast learner and works effectively in a team-oriented environment.


  • Alongside the CEO, facilitate new and maintain existing relationships with community-based organizations, county agencies, other community resources, and other stakeholders
  • Support the CEO in departmental planning and monitoring progress and will work to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Assist CEO with project billing to funders
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned staff
  • Schedule events and create reports on the efficacy of those events
  • Represent the organization externally whenever required and act on behalf of the CEO when needed
  • Support CEO with data collection, analysis, and reporting to funders
  • Research program grants and identify new funding opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with state and local employment practices 

Who You Are

  • Experience supervising a staff team, including the ability to build positive team morale while meeting or exceeding administrative expectations
  • Exceptional organizational, writing and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and AV equipment.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to prioritize and work on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge in the development, management and maintenance of budgets from multiple sources including the submission of reports to funding sources
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills and ability to create positive outcomes
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and delegate responsibilities whenever appropriate
  • Have outstanding oral and written communication skills and be an effective public speaker
  • Shared life experiences with participants 

Education Requirements/Other Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business administration or related field or experience that has prepared the candidate to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. MS/MA is desired
  • Valid California Driver's License 
  • Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.

It is our desire to provide our staff members with the support, resources, and information they need to be successful in our organization and in the non-profit field in general.  If you take on this position, you can expect to be offered a compensation package, including salary and benefits, that will be commensurate with your experience and competitive within the non-profit sector. Some of the benefits we offer to our staff members include, but are not limited to:

  • Salary range for the position is $5,000-$5,5000 monthly
  • Subsidized Medical Allowance
  • Paid Leave
