Young Audiences/Arts for Learning, founded in Baltimore in 1950, is the country’s foremost arts-in-education non-profit organization. The Maryland chapter of Young Audiences (YA) provides more than 9,000 arts education opportunities to nearly 200,000 students, artists, and educators throughout the state each year. Job Description:

The Donor Engagement Manager is a full-time, exempt position that will report to the Development Director. This individual will drive the building of a community of donors and other supporters of Young Audiences. They will introduce Young Audiences to community members who may not be familiar with the organization and ensure that community members who are already passionate about the work of Young Audiences are able to easily introduce the organization to their networks. They will also be responsible for ensuring that Young Audiences’ donors feel valued, appreciated, and part of the community at Young Audiences.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify, introduce, and cultivate new potential donors and friends of the organization. (40%) o Develop and lead point-of-entry events that introduce new potential donors and other community members to Young Audiences.
  • Consistently follow up with point-of-entry event attendees to continue to introduce them to Young Audiences and move them into community and relationship with the organization. o Lead cultivation, stewardship, and asking of low- and mid-level donors (up to $999).
  • Transition potential major donors ($1,000+) to the Major Gifts Officer and development committee of the board.
  • Serve as the staff lead for the pipeline committee of the board. (15%)
  • This committee is responsible for assisting with introducing new community members to the organization, including identifying and cultivating new (all levels) and existing (low- and mid-level) potential donors.
  • Partner with the board chair of the pipeline committee to ensure strong board and committee participation.
  • Lead the annual Impact Breakfast fundraising event. Taking place each spring, this fundraising event aims to raise approximately $100,000 each year. (15%)
  •  Oversee the development and distribution of the annual report. (10%)
  • Oversee pledge-collecting efforts for small and mid-level multi-year donors and other pledge
  • receivables due from individuals. (5%)
  •  Oversee Giving Tuesday. (5%)
  •  Regularly analyze data to determine effectiveness of various cultivation strategies and make changes based on identified trends and learning. (5%)
  •  Other duties as assigned. (5%)

  • Access to reliable transportation and/or a driver’s license is strongly preferred, as the position will require regular travel for off-site events and meetings.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary for this position starts at $50,000, depending on experience and related qualifications. We offer an attractive benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision health care coverage, retirement contributions, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
