NATURE OF WORK: The Housing Unit Supervising Attorney manages a team of legal staff (attorneys, paralegals and social workers) addressing the legal rights of low-income individuals in ensuring housing stability and the prevention of homelessness in Colorado. The Supervisor may provide remote supervision for staff working on similar issues in other offices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-      Maintain an active caseload;

-      Supervise and guide the legal work of the unit, including legislative and administrative

advocacy;

-      Assist in staff training, professional development, and performance evaluation;

-      Engage in strategic planning and long-range goal setting for the unit;

-      Lead and coordinate systemic work and community outreach;

-      Participate in the hiring of unit members;

-      Manage staff workload, client relations, and interpersonal conflict, making

recommendations for improvements or disciplinary action Collective Bargaining

Agreement

-      Assist with grant management, from application to administration and reporting.

-      Complete or delegate administrative tasks such as approving leave requests and

reviewing timesheets and requests for reimbursement
