The YWCA of Seattle | King | Snohomish Gender-Based Violence Specialized Services provides culturally relevant services that are designed to meet the needs of survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault and commercial sexual exploitation (CSE). The Domestic Violence Legal Advocate will provide legal advocacy to adult survivors which could include support with protection orders, family law, CPS, housing navigation, safety planning and life skills, employment, housing, and etc. This position will use a model of best practice trauma-informed advocacy with a strength based approach.

This position has a social justice component that will allow for critical thinking around how the external systems influences the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. In accordance with COVID-19 safety practices, YWCA has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, and all new hires need to be fully vaccinated prior to their first day of employment. YWCA considers a new hire “fully vaccinated” when at least two weeks have passed after the date the employee received: 

  • A second dose in a two-dose vaccine series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines; or   
  • A single-dose vaccine, such as the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine.
