Fairfax professional association seeks motivated, self-directed CLE/Special Events Coordinator to plan and develop MCLE-approved continuing legal education programs presented in a variety of delivery formats, working collaboratively with the CLE Committee, other Bar leaders, volunteers, and staff. The CLE/Special Events Coordinator is responsible for planning the association's continuing legal education seminars and its annual convention, as well as coordinating logistics for some of the association's smaller events and affiliated organization’s functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the FBA’s Continuing Legal Education Program by developing and regularly updating a calendar of seminars and programs for the coming year
  • Collects and organizes written materials required for meetings, and coordinates mandatory continuing legal education credits with certifying agency
  • Prepares and films content for online educational offerings, maintaining the online catalog of materials and videos
  • Plans workflow, manages projects related to all aspects of events. Provides oversight of all duties required to ensure a successful event, including coordination of the programming, communicating all aspects of the event from "Save-the-date" notices to program evaluations
  • Maintains records of all CLE activities including financial and attendance reports for each seminar, and other statistics and metrics as necessary
  • Communicates with the other staff and Section chairs for all CLE concerns
  • Manages conference and event planning including on-site logistics, communications, registration, sponsorship, exhibit hall and on-site event coordination for CLEs and the annual convention
  • Keeps abreast of association trends and best practices regarding meetings and marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

College Degree required. The CLE/Special Events Coordinator must have the ability to interact effectively with Association Members, staff and the public. Experience in event planning, marketing, communications desired. Must possess excellent negotiating skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and diverse priorities simultaneously, as well as strong writing, communication and organizational skills. Candidate should be proficient at an intermediate level with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as have a familiarity with database entry and management. Must be friendly, detail oriented, and able to take ownership of multiple projects and work autonomously.
