    Description

    Position Overview: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and adjustments. The Staff Accountant works under the Senior Accountant and works closely with the Operations, Real Estate Development, and Asset Management departments.

    Objectives and Responsibilities:

    • Accounts payable, cash receipts, credit cards and GL reconciliation.
    • Maintain books of accounts of Holos and development properties
    • Prepare quarterly AM reports and assist in the review of financials provided by property management companies
    • Invoice and track project expenses due to Holos
    • Assist in audit preparation including sending and tracking audit confirmations and coordinating between internal personnel and auditor. Support all audit efforts.
    • Prepare, analyze and correct GL entries
    • Prepare payroll and benefits entries
    • Prepare settlement statement entries
    • Prepare all organizational and project related checks
    • Assist with monthly and year-end close
    • Assist with forecasting and projecting budgets, including presenting financial information to the Board
    • Research G&A expense for proper coding
    • Prepare, issue and reconcile 1099 forms
    • Maintain Accounting files

    Requirements:

    • Passion for and support of Holos’ mission and a passion for innovation
    • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
    • 3 years of proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper
    • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software. Knowledge in Yardi a plus.
    • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in dealing with confidential issues; ability to work all accounting systems and recommend more efficient and economical solutions
    • Critical thinking skills and the ability to make reasoned decisions with limited information
    • Proof of ability to work in the United States.
    • Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license and auto insurance at all times and have the availability of an insured vehicle to travel within the Company’s service area.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • $65,000-$80,000 annual salary, DOE
