Description

Girls Who Code is searching for a strategic, results oriented Director to lead the fast-paced corporate business development efforts. The Director will report to the VP of Development and will ensure a stellar end-to-end experience for prospective Girls Who Code partners as they invest in program offerings.


The successful candidate has at least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience managing high-profile corporate business development in a dynamic, metrics driven environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Director of Corporate Partnerships works to establish and reach major fundraising goals on behalf of GWC. Their responsibilities will fall into three main areas: External Relations, Strategy, and Leadership. 


External Relations

  • Leverage an existing prospect pipeline to maintain, grow and secure new gifts from leading corporations globally.
  • Pitch GWC partnership opportunities to C-level executives at leading companies globally
  • Grow robust partnership platforms that advance both GWC and corporate brand and social change objectives
  • Extensive outreach and communication with prospective corporate partner contacts across all levels
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and funders to ensure sufficient resources, space and services to support program delivery 
  • Identify the types of organizations best equipped to partner with Girls Who Code for successful program expansion and advise development team on areas for expansion and growth
  • Speak on behalf of Girls Who Code at meetings, panels, conferences, and other engagements
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing team to ensure sponsorship activation for corporates
  • Work with Program Staff to discover areas of potential programming growth that can lead to sponsorships
  •  Facilitate discovery and pitch meetings for CEO and/or VP Development with corporations


Strategy

  • Identify and manages to overall fundraising goals for corporate sponsorships
  • Develop and lead execution of global corporate fundraising strategy including developing new revenue streams for corporate partners to invest in GWC
  • Collaborate with Board members to leverage their corporate networks

Leadership and Management

  • Manage and coach high-performing Manager of Corporate Partnerships
  • Lead sales cycle for prospective corporate partners, oversee sales pipeline with 100+ corporates working to secure $6M+ in funding for the organization
  • Work closely with the VP, Development to fundraise $6M for new initiatives
  • Manage robust database to facilitate moves management with prospects
  • Work with Development leadership to implement new processes and systems to increase program scalability and increased quality while improving partner experience and growing partner engagement; participate in management team strategy sessions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field required. Advanced degree in business a plus
  • 6-7 years prior experience managing corporate partnerships in a sales, fundraising, nonprofit or academic/school environment, preferred. Familiarity with leading a sales team is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience
  • A track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome-based program and teams. Experience developing and operationalizing strategies that have taken a program or organization to the next stage of growth
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong sense of accountability to deadlines and fundraising goals
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects at the same time while partnering with internal and external teams
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment; able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, and executing quickly and effectively
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and creative management of multiple issues at once
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education preferred  
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, maturity, positivity and confidence
