Staff Accountant 

Summary/Objective 

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant in ensuring the finance team creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. 

Essential Functions 

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

1. Responsible for processing Accounts Payable on a weekly basis. 

2. Responsible for performing account reconciliations and assist with closing on a monthly basis. 

3. Responsible for monitoring credit card transactions and entry into the accounting system. 

4. Responsible for remote bank deposits. 

5. Prepare and enter journal entries into the accounting system. 

6. Prepares General Ledger Entries By Maintaining Records And Files. 

7. Develops systems for the Maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies. 

8.Assists staff with the use of various accounting systems. 

9.Assists the Human Resources Manager with payroll and benefit transaction processing.

Supervisory Responsibility 

The Staff Accountant has no direct supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. 

Physical Demands 

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. 

Travel 

No travel is expected for this position. 

Required Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent number of years of experience plus two to four years of accounting experience. 

CPA candidate a plus. 

Non-profit accounting experience. 

Proficient in Excel. 

Intacct experience a plus. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

None required for this position. 

Salary

50-55k
