Case Assistant - Storefront Case Management

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision of Case Management Project Director or designee, assists with administrative and clerical tasks required in routine operation of the Case Management program. May provide case assistance and referral information as deemed appropriate.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pre-screening calls; arranging services; two month Monitoring calls and follow up calls to “no answers", and reopening cases of clients to the CM program.
  • Submits all work to Case Management Social Work supervisor for approval, and then enters information into STARS.
  • Attends in-service training and staff meetings.
  • Explains and interprets the agency's programs and types of assistance available to callers.
  • Acts as receptionist and answers in-person and telephone inquiries, referring calls to appropriate party. Makes referrals as appropriate.
  • Uses computer to prepare letters, flyers, reports, etc.
  • Assembles, collates and records statistical data.
  • Maintains petty cash accounts.
  • Regular and ongoing communication with social workers/case managers.
  • Assists with and compiles monthly statistics and reports.
  • Performs other related tasks as requested or assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., Two years college or Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate, including ability to learn and use program-specific software.
  • Good writing/record keeping skills.
  • Ability to read, write speak and understand English.
  • May require heavy lifting including setting up tables, moving chairs, and other room set-ups for programs, climbing stairs may be required.
