About the Organization

The Climate and Land Use Alliance (CLUA) is a philanthropic collaboration of the ClimateWorks Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies and Good Energies Foundation make grants in alignment with CLUA’s strategy. CLUA seeks to catalyze the potential of forested and agricultural landscapes to mitigate climate change, benefit people, and protect the environment.

Emissions from deforestation and other land use changes account for 30 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and the growing global demand for food, fuel, and fiber continues to drive deforestation at a dangerous rate. CLUA is a unique funding model born from the belief that no single foundation or organization alone can address the many factors driving tropical deforestation and other land management changes. Through collaboration, the foundation alliance has built a team with the breadth and depth of experience needed to address this systemic issue.

Grants Manager

The Grants Manager serves three primary functions for CLUA: 1) manage and administer all Alliance grants and contracts funded by ClimateWorks Foundation and partner re-granting funds; 2) coordinate the approval of partner foundation grants in alignment with the CLUA strategy, including collecting and managing grant information; and 3) support the monitoring of CLUA’s grantmaking budget. The Grants Manager works as part of a small, dedicated team and reports to CLUA's Director of Operations.
