01 The Job 

The Senior Grant Capacity Program Manager serves in a leadership role on the team tasked with increasing grants management knowledge and skills throughout World Vision. 

To do this, you will analyze and identify training needs and then develop and deliver a diverse range of learning opportunities (remote, classroom, e-learning, one-on-one coaching, etc) that translate complex regulations, and policies into usable, understandable, and accessible tools, materials, and training for grant staff. You will also be expected to evaluate the effectiveness of these capacity building initiatives and make suggestions for improvement.

You will help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies while personifying the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

Facilitate in-person and remote trainings, using established curricula designed to build capacity, mitigate risk, and promote compliance. These include:

o   Gateway to Grants, a comprehensive introduction to US Government grants management;

o   Training of Trainers, a workshop that equips staff to deliver dynamic and effective training;

o   Subgrant management and audit preparation workshops.

Provide direct capacity building support to a large portfolio of public and private grant projects. This may involve:

o  Serving as a subject matter expert on Capacity Building or Capacity Development for grant proposals.

o  Materials development, including the creation and maintenance of online toolkits.

o  Supporting grant start-up during the first 90 days of project implementation.

o  Consulting with US, regional, and country-level stakeholders on capacity building initiatives around specific donors or projects.

o  Leading or facilitating site visits, learning events, staff retreats, all-staff meetings, etc.

Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time

03 You Bring 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, the Senior Grant Capacity Program Manager role requires a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates with 3-5-years of relevant professional experience may be considered for a Grant Capacity Program Manager at the non-Senior level. 

Previous experience with teaching, training, and/or facilitation is required at both levels.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and creative thinker who enjoys learning and applying new skills, tools, and techniques to their work. They enjoy collaborating with individuals all over the world and are comfortable presenting technical material to a range of audiences. They can effectively engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including Subject-Matter Experts.

They have managed grants from government agencies, institutional foundations, or individual mega donors, and have a working knowledge of the field of international development. They have proven experience managing large projects, including multi-day events like orientations or training workshops.

They are very familiar with Office 365, including MS Teams, and have knowledge or experience with online training and facilitation platforms (Articulate 360, Zoom, Mural, etc.) and/or Learning Management Systems (i.e. BlackBoard, Canvas, Moodle).
