Under general supervision and working as part of the Mobile Crisis Team (MCT), provides crisis assessment and crisis intervention services to adults who present a need of mental health services at the St. Vincent Psychiatric Emergency Department. These services include providing individuals with information about community resources, assistance in referrals to community providers, suicide prevention and planning for safety and crisis assessments. When necessary, the CIS is able to coordinate emergency psychiatric care through either the FrontLine Service clinic or St. Vincent Charity Psychiatric Emergency Department. Makes treatment recommendations, and develops, completes and monitors individualized service plans (ISPs). Completes and maintains service documentation according to agency and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conducts crisis assessments that are sensitive and responsive to client cultural and ethnic backgrounds, functioning and needs, as well as environmental and situational factors by collecting and evaluating client information.
- Formulates diagnoses according to DSM-IV criteria by gathering, organizing, documenting and analyzing all input sources. Communicates results of assessments and makes recommendations.
- Conducts crisis intervention services through prompt utilization of organization and community resources including other service providers.
- Develops and monitors individualized service plans (ISPs) by establishing treatment goals and determining treatment methodologies.
- Monitors the progress toward treatment goals and effectiveness of interventions by evaluating and adjusting services.
- Ensures compliance with productivity standards and documentation/record keeping for agency and project, funding and accreditation requirements by maintaining and reporting accurate and timely documentation and statistical data.
- Complies with established service plans, federal, state, and local laws, and professional standards of conduct
- Ensures that all fiscal transactions follow standard agency procedures as authorized for emergency situations.
The range is $19.81 - $23.22 per hour depending on licensure, education and experience.
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field, with a minimum of one year professionally supervised work in the delivery of mental health, chemical dependency and/or social services.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- LSW, LISW, PC or PCC required.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with good driving record and proof of insurance; adhering to the minimum requirements of Ohio’s Financial Responsibility Act.
- CPR certification plus First Aid and non-violent physical crisis intervention training (within 60 days of hire).
