Consultant will work with 5 sites for the Texas Immigration Collaborative: Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, East Texas, Houston, and San Antonio. The sites are connected to the National Justice For Our Neighbors, a United Methodist Church immigration ministry. JFON is a ministry of hospitality that welcomes immigrants by providing affordable, high-quality immigration services to low-income immigrants, engaging in advocacy for immigrant rights, and offering education to communities of faith and the public. Consultant will develop and lead an overall communications strategy and organizational branding statewide.
While this position is a contract position, consultant will be expected to travel to each JFON site in Texas least 3 times a year and to engage in periodic in-person meetings in Austin or San Antonio and elsewhere.
Level of Language Proficiency
Fluency in Spanish is preferred with reading, writing, and speaking ability.

Bachelor's degree is to be in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field. Will be responsible for ongoing site research at the 5 sites and information gathering of each JFON"s website, blog, e-letter, and associated social medial channels. Work with each site to ensure media information is current and relevant. Maintain a Texas JFON media database. Provide training to ED's and/or Board chairs on media connections. Ensure alignment of message and strategic communications plan. Build capacity at the local Board level with communication teams, boards, interns, and volunteers to support the communications strategy.
