Coordinator of Alumni Enrichment

The Coordinator of Alumni Enrichment will support efforts that provide enrichment opportunities to alumni and friends of the GAA and UNC.  These efforts primarily include enrichment events that focus on a travel program serving over 700 travelers a year, a career resource hub including webinars and in-person events, and on education programming, which features faculty and speakers. This person will report to the Senior Coordinator, Alumni Education and Travel, and work closely with others working on GAA enrichment, including the Senior Coordinator, Faculty Relations and Travel.  

A successful candidate will be highly motivated with exemplary relationship building and customer service skills. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while also managing multiple priorities with an accurate attention to detail. The ability to work with complex data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy is essential to success in this role. Familiarity with UNC is a plus. The Coordinator of Alumni Enrichment is expected to be a full contributing member of a programs team that works to provide programs and services to meet the growing needs of Carolina alumni. 

• Learn and utilize “ViaTour” software to manage traveler records and communications.

• Prepare and manage multiple tour communications in “ViaTour” software and through US mail.

• Provide tour information and take reservations for the alumni travel program, working closely with our travel partners and with the Senior Coordinator of Alumni Education and Travel.  

• Represent the GAA as requested by manager, including staffing Programs Team and GAA events and programs as well as Carolina Club volunteer events, reunion weekends, public forum events, etc.

• Work collaboratively with GAA Programs Team members to plan events by brainstorming ideas for engagement, reviewing event data, and bringing unique suggestions to consider. 

• Work collaboratively with GAA Programs Team members to execute events by securing facility reservations, staffing and recording events, creating and managing registrations, promotions and communications (print, email, social media, etc. 

• In collaboration with the Senior Coordinator of Faculty Relations and Travel, develop public forums for examining significant events that continue the GAA’s involvement with the local community and strengthen the connection with UNC faculty, staff, departments and centers. 

• Build 1-2 annual weekend study trips, including the North Carolina history enrichment trip.

• After training and in consultation with the Manager of Marketing and in collaboration with the Senior Coordinator of Alumni Education and Travel, prepare materials for the Travel and Lifelong Learning website and monitor changes and updates.

• Assist in the recruitment and retention of GAA members through programming efforts.

• Contribute to brochure planning and review for travel tour promotions.

• Track enrichment expenses in order to process invoices and ensure accurate spending throughout the fiscal year.  

• Assist in the recruitment and retention of GAA members through all activities and events

• Participate in and attend GAA quarterly board meetings. Prepare materials as requested.

• Continue to strengthen and sustain the GAA’s relationships with UNC faculty and staff through touchpoints and events

• Upon the invitation of the GAA President, serve as the GAA host on an alumni tour.
