Our arts and media education programs reach over 25,000 individuals. Our Media Center offers a variety of free and wallet-friendly, high-quality film, TV, and podcasting courses, serving 6,000 adult students annually. BRIC’s in-school and afterschool programs reach thousands of students in over 35 public schools throughout the borough.

Purpose of Position:

The Manager, Adult Education - Cohort Programs supports and advances BRIC Media Education’s (BME) long-form cohort classes. These programs include the BRIC Documentary Intensive, Black Box Filmmaking, the BRIC Podcast Intensive, the BRIC Media Arts Fellowship, and TV Studio Collaborative. This position oversees all program aspects, including class administration, curriculum development, and programming/hosting of public events. The Adult Education Specialist, Cohort Programs also helps coordinate BME classes, updates existing curriculum, leads monthly orientations, and liaises with the public. This position reports the Director of Media Education.

Key Duties:

·        Coordinate, administer and implement BME cohort programs

·        Develop new educational programs

·        Coordinate curriculum development sessions with instructors

·        Coordinate onsite BME class admin – course materials, class prep, liaise with instructors

·        Prepare weekly attendance reports on cohort and onsite classes

·        Schedule and lead special screening events for the public

·        Lead monthly BME Orientation for the public

·        Answer phone and email inquiries

·        Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

•       Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (MFA preferred)

•       Teaching experience in a higher education or adult education setting required

•       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

•       Narrative/documentary filmmaking experience

•       Competency in Google docs, Word and Excel

•       Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and podcast production a plus

Salary and Schedule

This is a full-time position with a full benefits package. Salary is approximately $50K - $53K depending on experience. Tuesday-Friday, 11am-7pm with some weekends and evenings.
